Laborer (Trails)

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to perform the work of a Laborer (Trails) position without more than normal supervision. Must be able to preform heavy physical labor such as clearing brush and fallen logs from trail corridors, digging for long periods of time with a shovel and pick, carrying logs and rolling rocks. Construct and maintain trail drainage structures and backcountry bridges. Use and maintain a variety of tools and equipment commonly used in Laborer duties. Use standard safety equipment and follow safety procedures to avoid serious injury. This position is located in a National Park Service unit. The primary purpose of this position is to perform heavy physical labor in the maintenance and construction of the parks trail system. These positions may be filled for up to a six-month seasonal period, but can be vary due to weather conditions, project needs, or agency funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2025.
