You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in performing fire inspections by detecting and eliminating potential fire hazards; 2) Assisting in conducting training in fire protection and prevention 3) Experience responding to all hazards incidents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7). Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense, International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) equivalent certifications: (Please note: All certifications must be uploaded at time of application): Fire Fighter I and II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Incident Command, Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Service Instructor I, Fire Inspector I and II. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Literacy Fire Prevention, Inspection, and Code Compliance Fire/Life Safety Training, Public Education, and Outreach Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
