All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/21/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. QUALITY RANKING FACTOR: This position performs collection and accounting for monies. To qualify for this position at the GS-04 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of general experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience shows progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates my ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform Recreation Fee Clerk duties. My general experience includes collecting and handling cash, checks, and credit cards and can accurately complete standard mathematical calculations, greeting the public, providing information, and giving directions. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least two (2) years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, 6 months of the generalized experience described above (50% of the experience requirement), and 1 year (12 months) of college study from an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education) as specified above, equals 100% of the total requirement. You must include transcripts. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties associated with the collection of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under the authority of Federal laws and regulations such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA). At this grade level, the position is primarily responsible for carrying out clerical assignments that involve the application of general fee program knowledge and the fundamental practices and procedures of fee collection.
