Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have demonstrated the ability to perform the following tasks: 1) Interpreting and working from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions, blueprints, and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded Painter; 2) Preparing and applying various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies; 3) Familiar with and capable of performing spray paint work involving high finish and close tolerance requirements, using conventional coatings and equipment; 4) Responsible for the proper set up, skilled use, care and accountability of trade related tools and equipment such as conventional paint guns (pressure suction), pressure pots, airless equipment (pump sprayers and guns); air-assisted electrostatic paint guns, orbital sanders, component machines (pressure requirements, proportioning ratios), hoses, blast helmets, sanders, sealant guns, hand tools, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/federal-wage-system-qualifications/#url=WG-4100 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
