Education Requirement: In order to quality for a Health Science Policy Analyst, GS-0601, position, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree or graduate/higher level degree with a major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. Additional Qualifications Requirement(s): In order to qualify for a Health Science Policy Analyst at the GS-14: you must have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: analyzing and evaluating the health science policy issues affecting an organization and biomedical research community; implementing policies for health science program operations involving complex/controversial areas; and identifying trends and emerging problems in health science-related areas resulting in significant changes in research policy approaches. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay. This position is located within the Scientific and Public Engagement Branch (SPEB), NINDS Office of Neuroscience Communications and Engagement (ONCE) under the overall direction of the Director for ONCE. The mission of the Office of Neuroscience Communications and Engagement is to promote a better understanding of brain and nervous system science and its impact on health through dynamic collaboration, communication, and community engagement.
