Only experience and education obtained by 11/27/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualification. Basic Requirement: Possess a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Possess a combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualification [GS-12] Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: 1.) Conducting status surveys for listed and candidate species, in cooperation with Federal and state agency personnel, private organization representatives, and contractors; 2.) Assisting with planning, investigating, conducting, and reviewing on-site ecological investigations on a wide variety Federal land and water resource development projects to determine their effects on fish and wildlife resources; 3.) Preparing biological portions of environment assessment/impact statements or comprehensive resource planning reports; and 4.) Developing habitat conservation or restoration projects. NOTE: This experience must be clearly reflected in your resume. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This is a SUPERVISORY FISH & WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST GS-0401-12 working in Indiahoma, OK for the R2-Assistant Regional Director-Fisheries. The duty station is at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge but it is not a refuge position. This is a Military Lands Conservation Program position with the Fish and Aquatic Conservation Assistant Regional Director Office stationed at the refuge. Incumbent will be expected to travel to several military installations across OK and TX to conduct projects.
