Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Required to be certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an “Airframe and Powerplant” (A&P) mechanic; inspection authorized (IA) credential is required. Must possess skills in maintaining aircraft forms and records, reading and interpreting aviation technical manuals, removal, repair, reassemble, and replacement of aircraft components and systems, experience in small, general aviation aircraft systems is mandatory. Ability in performing aircraft inspections, the use of aviation hand tools and test equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing aircraft systems. Must have six (6) months of specialized experience in maintenance and repair of general aviation fixed wing aircraft systems, airframes, components or assemblies. Must work out of doors in hot, cold and humid conditions. Moderate to heavy lifting is required. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must possess a driver’s license and be qualified to drive on the Main Base and South Base flight line, within 60 days of employment. This position is a drug testing designated position (TDP).
