ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Resolving complex and diverse construction and design problems from as-built drawings and existing conditions to develop scopes of work sufficient for accomplishing the work; 2) Preparing detailed technical reports in the development of cost estimates for contracts and task orders; 3) Making recommendations to resolve problems encountered from scopes of work, referencing industry standards and codes to determine exact requirements for work; 4) Performing pre-award review of contractor proposals and technical questions as required by the command to ensure contractors are in compliance with state and federal environmental, safety and labor regulations; 5) Analyzing bids and making recommendations for awards, price negotiations, and for changes in original specifications; and 6) Performing job site visits and reviewing construction plans and specifications to ensure work conforms with the contract.
