To qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet one of the following qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of this Financial Analyst position to be filled. Specialized experience includes utilizing an automated payroll and/or financial system; reviewing transactions and correcting errors; and assisting customers/employees by providing guidance via telephone/email. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): A master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education must be related to the position and must demonstrate the knowledge, sills, and abilities necessary to do the work. -OR- COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): An equivalent combination of specialized experience and successfully completed graduate education beyond a bachelor’s degree, as described above, to meet the requirements for this position. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Analytical Reasoning Attention to Detail Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Technical Competence IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The Financial Analyst serves as an Employee Compensation Analyst and performs duties that promotes adherence to Employee Compensation related federal laws, regulations, and established VA Financial Policies. This position is located at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
