Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-/GG-11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing advice to subject matter experts for all matters relating to international security programs to include North Atlantic Treaty Organization requirements (NATO) as well as Special Access Programs (SAP); Applying all aspects of International and SAP security to include principles contained in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and security directives, instructions, manuals and NATO regulations; Developing security principles with special emphasis in the area of government security oversight at industry locations. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Compliance Inspection- Knowledge of the guidelines, regulations, and procedures associated with compliance inquiries, including application of compliance rules and criteria and ability to make appropriate decisions and issue citations, fines, or orders. 2. Communications- Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals. 5. Security- Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents. 6. Technical Competence-Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one’s job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
