To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. General Schedule Qualification Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level OR four (4) years above the high school level. GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. General Experience: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of specialized experience at the GS-05 level: schedule appointments, respond to inquiries and requests through telephone, correspondence and personal visits, record keeping, maintain record of confidentially and safeguard patient information, use electronic systems to provide clerical office support. OR, successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level. GS-06: Maintain an appointment scheduling system for medical providers; Schedule/Reschedule appointments for patients; Transcribe physician orders pertaining to diagnostic tests; apply more extensive knowledge of medical practice and terminology and judgement based on substantial experience in medical record work. This position is located at the IHS Hospital, Division of Nursing Services, Branch of Outpatient Nursing Services, Browning, Montana. The purpose of this position is to manage the appointment system, serve as receptionist, and assist with clerical duties to provide efficient services to clients, visitors, and other health care providers under the direction of a registered nurse.
