Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal Government which included experience in the following areas: (1) Inspecting equipment in accordance with manufacture’s specifications; (2) Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement; (3) Coordinating maintenance, repair and readiness of equipment/vessels; and (4) Recognizing and reporting errors, inconsistencies and other deficiencies in technical data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating Reading Comprehension Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
About the Position: This position is assigned to the River Operations Branch, Navigation Section and serves as an Equipment Specialist for vessels, marine equipment, and floating plants. NOTE: This is a Term position, Not to Exceed 6 Years.
