Equipment Specialist (Marine)

Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal Government which included experience in the following areas: (1) Inspecting equipment in accordance with manufacture’s specifications; (2) Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement; (3) Coordinating maintenance, repair and readiness of equipment/vessels; and (4) Recognizing and reporting errors, inconsistencies and other deficiencies in technical data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating Reading Comprehension Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
About the Position: This position is assigned to the River Operations Branch, Navigation Section and serves as an Equipment Specialist for vessels, marine equipment, and floating plants. NOTE: This is a Term position, Not to Exceed 6 Years.
