AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service “under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709” and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE: May be paid to the candidate who is “newly appointed” into this federal government position. The bonus will NTE $7,000. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. Candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 86 and the President is Mr. Robert Morgan at rmorgan@actnat.com. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E3 thru E6. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training providing ability to service, correct and repair malfunctions on a variety of air conditioning and cooling unit systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE – WG-10: Must have at least 18 months of experience or training installing, recognizing the complex causes of faulty equipment making repairs on a variety of large domestic, commercial, and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems that provide functions of heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering, and circulating air for different kinds of structures, buildings, and complexes. Experience or training installing, repairing, modifying, and relocating equipment on various special purpose air conditioning units and systems that are frequently modified.
