To qualify, no specific length of experience or training is required; however, you must show evidence of experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. You MUST provide a NARRATIVE statement for each Demonstrated Ability. The narratives should be clear and concise, providing a description of your education, training and experience that would describe the degree to which you possess each Demonstrated Ability. Candidates must document possession of experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position. Eligible candidates will be ranked based on DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES, if applicable. In addition to the minimum qualifications, Demonstrated Ability number 1 has been determined to be a selective placement factor or “screen-out element” for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration. ***This is a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-Out Element for this position is: Ability to independently perform the most difficult tasks utilizing a thoroughly developed knowledge of operation and repair of vehicles and allied mechanical equipment.***
Operates heavy engineering equipment and performs major, routine, or emergency road and ground maintenance and construction. Position involves operation of both heavy road construction and snow removal equipment in mountain terrain under extremely adverse and hazardous conditions. Candidates must have current Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
