Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR duties including calibrating electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional measurements. I can determine appropriate measurement tolerances based on equipment specifications. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed without more than normal supervision. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Theory and Instruments (Electrical Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices Trouble Shooting PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
