Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must be a Commissioned Risk Management Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning to that used by the FDIC’s Division of Risk Management Supervision. CG-13, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading Risk Management examinations and evaluating financial institution safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund. CG-14, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading Risk Management examinations of larger or more complex insured depository institutions and evaluating financial institution safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund; and providing advice, counsel, and guidance to staff regarding special situations, complex examinations, enforcement matters, or regulatory applications of insured financial institutions. This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS), Communication and Training Branch and is responsible for internal and external communication efforts for the Division, including the Community Bank Outreach program.
