To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications for GS-04 1 Year of General Experience OR 2 Years of Education above the High School Level. General Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Minimum Qualifications for GS-05 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 Grade Level OR 4 Years of Education above the high school level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples include: Scheduling and canceling appointments in a patient care setting; knowledge of medical, technical or specialized terms when communicating with patients and professional staff; thorough knowledge of procedures needed to coordinate unit activities. Obtaining and reviewing medical records and relating clerical functions to the total patient treatment process. Minimum Qualifications for GS-06 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 Grade Level. Examples include: Scheduling and canceling appointments in a patient care setting; answering the telephone and providing patients’ information to callers in accordance with HIPAA regulations; preparing correspondence to be sent to patients such as appointment confirmations, cancelation and other notifications and maintaining security or confidentiality of records at all times. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located in the Cass Lake Indian Health Service, Nursing Services, Outpatient Department in Cass Lake, Minnesota. The purpose of this position is to provide scheduling duties on the automated system and clerical duties associated with patient care and treatment.
