To qualify at the GS-07 level you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Applicants must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level comparable in difficulty and complexity to perform the duties of a Realty Specialist. Qualifying specialized experience includes: reviewing applications or proposals for accuracy and compliance; assisting with field examinations or on-site compliance; gathering information or data to assist in the preparation of documents or amendments; assisting in analyzing or processing information to make suggestions on such things as lands and realty actions or rights-of-ways; and preparing or requesting required reports or assessments from appropriate sources. OR Education: To qualify based on education you must have one (1) full year (18 semester hours) of graduate-level education in a related field of study. OR Superior Academic Achievement: (See OPM’s General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the difficulty and complexity to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is split between sedentary and physical. Because the employee may lead or often conduct on-site examinations, there is some walking, standing, bending, and requiring normal physical exertion. Onsite visits require physical ability to traverse remote rough country by cross country vehicle or by foot, sometimes in extreme climatic conditions to conduct field inspections. The field duties of this position require that the employee operate four-wheel drive vehicles on and off roads in isolated areas. Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The work environment varies from an office setting to working outside in isolated areas under adverse weather conditions. The employee usually works alone while in the field. Temperatures in the field vary from minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Work in the office will generally be at a desk. The employee will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
