Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service in or related to safety and occupational health that provided the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, which includes: advising senior level officials on safety and occupational health program implementation and regulatory guidance; conducting accident investigations to determine factors, root cause, and/or lessons learned; ensuring compliance with safety standards through inspections; and investigating hazardous situations or operational safety problems to eliminate hazards, identify causes and/or trends in mishaps. This position has a selective placement factor which must be met prior to employment and for continued employment. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess Aviation Safety Officer Course at Fort Rucker or equivalent safety course. About the Position: Serves as the Airfield Division & Butts Army Airfield Aviation Safety Officer with responsibility for the development, organization, and execution of the Airfield Division Aviation Accident Prevention Program for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
