Aerospace Engineer, AST, Fluid Systems Test (Direct Hire)

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Operating fluid ground support or spacecraft systems such as environmental control, life support, cooling, or pneumatic systems; Performing test and checkout of fluid ground support or spacecraft systems such as verification and validation of system requirements; Authoring test plans, operation procedures, or maintenance requirements for fluid ground support or spacecraft systems. As an AST Fluid Systems Test engineer in the Exploration Systems and Operations Division, Environmental and Life Support Systems Branch, you will develop and execute tests and operations of fluid ground support and spacecraft systems for which the branch is responsible. You will support test, operations, and surveillance activities, ensure system performance and work execution meets all requirements, and provide technical insight into troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts.
