Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12 in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience includes: Applicants are required to possess all three specialized experience statements Developing policy including legislative and regulatory recommendations; and Providing guidance designed to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities; and Superior writing skills including documented experience in the development of policy recommendations and briefing materials related to employment. If interviewed, applicants may be asked to provide written examples of their work in the above areas of required specialized experience. This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Disability Employment Policy. This position is outside the bargaining unit.
