A qualified candidate must possess: — Knowledge gained through relevant experience that enables the employee to carry out continuing recreation programs through proper application of principles, concepts and techniques of recreation to the specific needs at hand. — Extensive knowledge of both self-directed and organized activities to plan, organize and coordinate a wide variety of recreational events. — Knowledge of common business practices related to purchase, storage and inventory management of merchandise. — Skill in the effective management and use of financial, physical and human resources provided to support the Bowling Centers. — Knowledge of recreational facility maintenance to ensure they meet program requirements. — General knowledge of budget preparation and accounting principles. **Position requires occasional standing, walking, stooping and bending. Most of the work is performed in an office setting, although occasion inspection of the facilities is required.**
This position is located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Command Navy Region Hawaii. The purpose of this position is to manage and direct the Regional Bowling Program and Theater. The Regional Program includes three (3) Bowling Centers and a variety of bowling programs designed to serve a community in excess of 25,000 Active Duty, DoD Civilian, Family Members, and Retirees.
