To meet the minimum qualifications, applicants must possess the leadership and technical experiences listed below. These qualifications would typically be gained through serving in roles that require managing projects/teams or guiding the technical work of others. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must submit a resume that addresses each minimum qualification experience. Examples should be clear, and concise, and emphasize your level of responsibilities; the scope and complexity of the programs, activities, or services you managed; program accomplishments; policy initiatives undertaken; level of contacts; the sensitivity and criticality of the issues you addressed; and the results of your actions. You should use action-oriented leadership words to describe your experience and accomplishments and quantify your experience wherever possible to demonstrate your accomplishments (e.g., the number of employees supervised). Leadership experiences identified must have been performed in an official supervisory role. Leadership Experience 1: Experience in overseeing and coordinating the work of organizational units, including assigning work; directing changes to programs and priorities; and evaluating performance against goals; AND Leadership Experience 2: Experience setting performance expectations; assessing employee performance; providing recognition and rewards; providing feedback and development opportunities; addressing performance or conduct issues; and participating in recruitment and hiring activities; AND Leadership Experience 3: Experience in leading teams of attorneys and/or independently assisting management with disciplinary actions arising out of highly sensitive and complex cases of employee misconduct, harassment, and/or retaliation. Technical Experience 1: Experience in advising senior officials on highly sensitive and complex cases regarding employee misconduct, harassment, and/or retaliation; AND Technical Experience 2: Experience in laws, regulations, principles, and precedents to oversee legal advice and litigation involving employee misconduct and discipline; AND Technical Experience 3: Experience in solving complex and sensitive problems and issues, such as those involving apparently conflicting laws or other requirements and those involving vague and untested areas of case law, where policy decisions and case strategy guidance have impact throughout the organization. Basic Qualification Requirement: License to practice before the highest court of a state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia and in good standing.
This position is located in the Office of Professional Conduct, Actions and Litigation of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C. Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $275,000.
