Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Business Administration, or other related fields preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience. Proven track record in supervising employees and managing a multi-activity off-base recreation area. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively work with a diverse group of people. Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills. Ability to make sound decisions and manage competing priorities. Knowledge of budgeting, marketing, and promotions. Understanding of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures governing the operation of an off-base recreation area. Completion of on-the-job training as determined by the Community Services Flight Chief or Outdoor Recreation Director within 60 days. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Position requires favorable completion of a Tier 1 background investigation. This position is a drug testing designated position (TDP) subject to random testing for drug use. About the position: This position will be assigned to The Outdoor Recreation Department on Edwards AFB. You will oversee the daily operations of the outdoor recreation equipment checkout and resale program. This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.
