About the Role
This opportunity is for a Digital Editor who will work across digital content channels, including websites, social media, sponsored content, and e-newsletters. The role is responsible for developing, editing, optimizing, and distributing content that supports audience growth and engagement across multiple energy and infrastructure-focused media brands.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and skilled at identifying content that is timely, engaging, and worth sharing. This position requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality, and combine strong editorial judgment with an analytical approach to content performance.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys both collaboration and independent ownership and who is passionate about digital media, storytelling, audience engagement, and finding new ways to grow digital reach.
What You’ll Do
- Lead digital editorial strategy across multiple energy and infrastructure brands.
- Edit, publish, and optimize daily news articles, feature stories, and newsletters to maximize reach and audience engagement.
- Develop SEO-focused headlines and metadata to improve content visibility and reader engagement.
- Coordinate cross-brand editorial coverage, homepage priorities, and content pipelines.
- Analyze performance metrics, including website traffic, email open rates, and click-through rates, and use those insights to refine editorial decisions.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and podcast teams on cross-platform content initiatives.
- Mentor and support editors in digital publishing and analytics best practices.
- Assist the Editor-in-Chief with editorial work, including coordinating and working with contributors.
- Attend conferences, industry events, and association meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of the oil and gas value chain.
- Proven experience producing digital media content.
- Outstanding writing, editing, SEO, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with content management systems, including Umbraco or similar platforms.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze trends and performance data and adjust editorial operations to increase web and social media traffic.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and content quality.
- Ability to combine creative editorial judgment with an analytical approach to audience and content performance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams while independently taking ownership of assigned work.
