Zone 1: $200,560 - $250,700 per year

Zone 2: $191,840 - $239,800 per year

Zone 3: $174,400 - $218,000 per year

Base salary is determined by geographic zone.

About the Role

This opportunity is for a Senior Applied AI Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing production-grade AI solutions that leverage large language models and modern machine learning technologies. The role combines deep technical expertise with practical AI implementation, enabling the delivery of scalable AI applications that create measurable business value.

You will lead the deployment of advanced AI models, integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into production software, monitor model performance, and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to continuously improve AI-powered applications.

What You'll Do

Design and Development

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions powered by large language models.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to build AI applications that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Influence product direction by introducing new AI capabilities and scalable technical solutions.

Deployment and Impact

• Integrate industry-standard LLM APIs into production applications.
• Deploy advanced AI functionality using cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Apply modern AI tools and platforms to deliver reliable, scalable AI-powered software.

Performance Monitoring

• Develop AI models that deliver measurable business impact.
• Continuously monitor production model performance using data-driven insights.
• Optimize deployed AI systems to improve quality, efficiency, reliability, and overall performance.

Agile Collaboration

• Deploy AI solutions within an Agile software development environment.
• Work closely with Applied AI engineers, software developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to refine ideas, solve complex technical problems, and deliver high-quality AI capabilities.
• Support rapid iteration and continuous improvement throughout the AI development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience deploying AI models with demonstrated business impact.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing end-to-end AI solutions.
• Strong expertise in Generative AI, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.
• Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, Hugging Face TGI, Ollama, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or comparable Generative AI platforms.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as AWS SageMaker, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
• Experience using cloud machine learning platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, particularly their managed machine learning services.
• Experience monitoring production model performance and connecting AI implementations to measurable business outcomes.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering, product, and business teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in complex technical environments.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging AI technologies and methodologies.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in applying AI technologies within the healthcare industry.
