About the Role
This Network Engineer role supports technology solutions across digital identity, cybersecurity, risk management, cloud, and security automation environments. The position is focused on implementing, administering, securing, monitoring, and improving network systems that support client projects and mission-critical technical operations.
The Network Engineer will help deliver network solutions that meet business requirements and service level agreements. This role works closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to define requirements, support high-level network design, monitor security controls, manage availability and performance, and contribute to future network architecture for greater capacity, reliability, and scale.
What You’ll Do
- Implement and administer network solutions that meet customer business requirements and service level agreements.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to define requirements and high-level designs for network systems.
- Help ensure network systems are highly available, maintainable, and reliable.
- Monitor and enforce network security systems and controls.
- Monitor and manage network availability and performance to support defined service level agreements.
- Evaluate network hardware and software solutions according to industry standards.
- Manage and monitor network firewall products and access control policies.
- Participate in regular network maintenance activities and change-management processes.
- Install, maintain, and monitor the operation of the organization’s enterprise network.
- Act as a liaison between developers, operators, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders on network hardware and software issues.
- Support the definition of future network architecture to increase capacity, availability, reliability, and scale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience in network engineering or IT technical roles.
- Working knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall administration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust or Security Clearance.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall and security platforms, such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA/Firepower.
- Experience with SD-WAN and Zero Trust Network Access architectures.
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting, including tools or languages such as Python and Ansible, to streamline configuration and monitoring.
- Experience with cloud networking, such as AWS VPC, Azure VNet, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect.
- Exposure to SIEM, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools, such as Splunk, SolarWinds, or Wireshark.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ are helpful.
