Material handler

Employment type: Full-time

Pay: $18 - $22/hour

Schedule: 1st shift, hours TBD, mandatory overtime as needed, possible weekend work

Role overview

You’ll support warehouse, yard, shipping, receiving, and delivery operations by unloading containers, picking orders, loading product, operating forklifts, organizing materials, and assisting customers as needed.

Core duties

• Receive daily order pick lists, pull orders, and load product for delivery.
• Unload finished goods from containers safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload products as needed.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Support shipping and receiving functions.
• Maintain and organize the warehouse and yard.
• Assist with product order filling as needed.
• Assist customers in a friendly manner.
• Operate a company truck as a backup driver when needed.
• Follow all safety rules and warehouse procedures.
• Assist in other warehouse and division areas as needed.

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clear driving record required.
• 1+ year of similar warehouse experience.
• Technical training or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with scanners, forklifts, teamwork, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Knowledge of warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions.
• Ability to safely drive a forklift.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong multitasking, organization, documentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to use hand tools and other industry-related equipment.
• Ability to read drawings and follow written procedures.
• Ability to work with employees, supervisors, customers, and industry personnel.

Physical and work environment

• Job requires walking about 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• May require extended work hours.
• Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
• Warehouse and distribution center environment.
• Work may be performed near other team members.
