Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000 base salary per year

About the Role

This opportunity is for a Senior Benefits Consultant responsible for the consulting strategy, service, and delivery for an assigned book of business. The role owns the success and retention of that book of business, leads the execution of benefits consulting services, develops annual customer account plans, and provides strategic guidance to support customer results and satisfaction.

The position works with customers, insurance carriers, vendors, strategic partners, and consulting delivery teams to develop and deliver benefit solutions. The work requires expertise in benefit plan funding mechanisms, large-group regulatory compliance, including ERISA, ACA, and COBRA, and the management of complex client accounts across small-group, mid-market, and large-group segments.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership and accountability for the success and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Lead and manage the execution of benefits consulting services for assigned customers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong customer results, and satisfaction.
• Develop and execute an annual customer account plan for each assigned customer.
• Work with consulting delivery team members to develop and implement strategic initiatives for assigned customers.
• Drive customer results and support team development across individual consulting delivery teams.
• Stay current on benefits industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, and support customer education and enablement regarding those developments.
• Collaborate with Sales, Technology Operations, Product, and other cross-functional teams to identify and support business development and operational improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, strategic partners, insurance carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of benefits consulting experience, with a primary focus on managing complex client accounts across small-group, mid-market, and large-group market segments.
• Experience managing a book of customers and working with insurance carriers and vendors to develop benefit solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in various benefit plan funding mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of large-group regulatory compliance, including ERISA, ACA, and COBRA.
• Active Life & Health Producer's License.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to take a proactive and consultative approach when working with customers, colleagues, and partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with customers, colleagues, and partners while maintaining accountability for work quality and goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Team leadership and/or project leadership experience.
• Experience working with leading HR and benefits technology platforms.
• Experience in both large-group and small-group benefits consulting.
