Schedule: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week; flexible hours may include evenings and weekends with 48 to 72 hours notice

Role overview

You’ll support the kitchen team by keeping kitchen areas, equipment, dishes, utensils, appliances, storage areas, and dining spaces clean, sanitized, organized, and ready for daily meal service.

What you’ll do

• Clean and sanitize refrigeration and freezer units, steam tables, beverage dispensers, dining room tables, cupboards, shelves, racks, work surfaces, cooking equipment, dishes, utensils, appliances, and storage areas.
• Remove garbage regularly and dispose of recycling boxes.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen, pantry, and prep room floors.
• Maintain dry storage areas and organize storage shelves.
• Receive and unload kitchen supplies.
• Check invoices against supplies and stock supply shelves.
• Load and unload an industrial dishwasher.
• Wash dishes by hand when needed.
• Set up workstations before meal preparation begins.
• Participate in staff development, including weekly supervision, team meetings, and training.
• Follow cleaning, sanitization, and workplace safety procedures.
• Use provided personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Food handler's card required, or willingness to attend food safety class.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to keep dish room and equipment clean and organized.
• Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized, timely, and hospitable manner.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, with 48 to 72 hours notice.
• Required to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day between 6:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Physical requirements

• Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry 50+ pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to perform active kitchen and cleaning work throughout the shift.
