About the Role
The Vice President of Growth will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and lead sustainable new and organic growth across the organization. This executive will build a scalable growth model, establish cyclical strategies aligned with financial targets and market opportunities, and coordinate business development, sales pipeline management, account management, capture management, and bids and proposals.
The role focuses on government professional services and federal contracting, including the strategic use of SBIR/STTR contract vehicles, teaming arrangements, pricing models, contract financials, and procurement processes. The position will also modernize growth operations by applying AI and automation to areas such as pipeline analytics and proposal creation.
What You'll Do
- Strategize, design, and build a scalable growth model that uses available SBIR/STTR contract vehicles and supports success across competitive environments, including small-business set-asides.
- Formulate and execute cyclical growth strategies spanning approximately 6, 12, and 24 months, aligning plans with strategic direction, organizational values, core competencies, financial targets, and new and organic customer and market opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate growth-related activities and teams across the organization, including business development, sales pipeline management, account management, capture management, and bids and proposals.
- Partner with business-unit executives to develop and execute key initiatives supporting new and organic growth.
- Guide the pursuit and capture of target contract opportunities, including decisions involving resources, contract vehicles, and teaming arrangements.
- Work closely with marketing and communications functions to align and synchronize outreach and growth activities.
- Contribute directly to growth activities when necessary, including hands-on involvement in bids and proposals.
- Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI and automation into growth workflows, including pipeline analytics and proposal creation, to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Continuously strengthen growth infrastructure and practices through improved tools, processes, and training.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Broad executive-level growth experience encompassing business development, capture management, teaming agreements, proposal management, pricing models, and contract financials.
- Demonstrated experience managing and achieving new and organic growth within government professional services, particularly at the federal level.
- Experience coordinating growth activities and teams cohesively within a matrixed environment.
- Experience collaborating across business functions, including finance and marketing.
- Ability to work successfully in a professional services environment and communicate effectively with clients.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of federal government procurement regulations, processes, and contract types.
- Ability to establish order, calm, accountability, and consistent execution within a growth practice.
- Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with executives, client delivery leads, customers, and vendor partners.
- Fundamental understanding of user experience design, product management, and software engineering.
- Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Superb written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence and quality across growth activities and deliverables.
- Willingness, adaptability, and aptitude to adopt AI and automation tools within growth operations; deep AI expertise is not required.

- Experience winning contracts through SBIR/STTR procurement authorities.
