About the Role
The Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records, executing monthly close activities, preparing journal entries, and completing revenue, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations. The position will also support annual tax preparation, audits, and the continued development of efficient accounting procedures.
This role requires progressive accounting or audit experience, a solid understanding of monthly close and general ledger reconciliations, and hands-on experience with Ramp and/or BILL. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets are essential. Experience with NetSuite and multi-entity accounting environments is preferred.
What You'll Do
- Support monthly close by completing both in-month and end-of-month accounting activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Complete monthly revenue reconciliations and record the related accounting entries.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations across applicable accounts.
- Record bank transactions on a weekly basis.
- Process daily accounting entries in Ramp and BILL.
- Assist with annual tax preparation and respond to related documentation requests.
- Provide accounting support throughout the annual audit process.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and operating efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting procedures and best practices.
- Complete additional accounting responsibilities assigned by the Director of Finance as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5 years of progressive accounting or audit experience.
- Practical experience supporting monthly close processes.
- Hands-on experience completing general ledger reconciliations.
- Experience using Ramp and/or BILL.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving accounting issues.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets for accounting and reconciliation activities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when maintaining financial records and completing accounting processes.
- Ability and willingness to learn, improve processes, and grow within the accounting function.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using NetSuite.
- Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment.
