About the Role

This opportunity is for a Senior Backend Software Engineer responsible for building, releasing, and maintaining reliable and scalable backend systems. The role owns end-to-end delivery of major product updates, with direct responsibility for release quality, production stability, system performance, and the technical integrity of high-impact backend features.

The position works primarily with Java Spring Boot and requires strong backend engineering experience, including production releases, testing, performance optimization, Snowflake or enterprise cloud data warehouses, and high-traffic systems. The engineer will also use AI development tools to accelerate execution while retaining ownership of code logic, security, architecture, and quality.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end delivery of major product updates, including the release lifecycle for high-impact features and their reliability and performance in production.
• Use AI tools such as Claude to accelerate development workflows while maintaining full ownership of code logic, security, architecture, and technical quality.
• Work with product teams to integrate and improve AI capabilities that support product workflows.
• Coordinate with frontend engineers to ensure reliable integration between the Java Spring Boot backend and React/TypeScript frontend.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve engineering quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering team efficiency and implement practical improvements.
• Estimate and plan development work to support timely, high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a backend engineer, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, high-quality code.
• Experience owning successful releases of high-traffic features or major platform migrations.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or enterprise cloud data warehouses for managing and querying large-scale datasets.

Required Skills

• Strong backend development experience with Java Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Ability to use AI tools as a development co-pilot while maintaining independent ownership of code quality, architecture, security, and problem-solving.
• Strong focus on software testing, production stability, and system performance.
• Ability to maintain reliable and scalable backend systems that support business-critical user workflows.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product and frontend engineering teams on backend integrations and product delivery.
• Strong code review, technical planning, estimation, communication, and feedback skills.
• Customer-focused approach to engineering, with awareness of the operational impact of platform reliability on users.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
