About the Role
The Migration Automation Software Engineer designs, builds, and improves automated workflows that move customer data from legacy software into a dental practice management SaaS platform. The role focuses on making migrations fast, secure, accurate, and reliable while streamlining onboarding for new customers.
Using C#, .NET, PowerShell, and SQL, this position develops automation routines, orchestrates processes, and validates complex ETL operations. Responsibilities include resolving issues in live workflows and working with cross-functional teams to improve migration performance. AI tools such as Claude support development, while the engineer retains ownership of code logic, security, architecture, and data integrity.
What You'll Do
- Build, modify, and debug automation workflows and routines for data migrations from legacy software packages.
- Implement and maintain custom scripts and orchestration processes using C#, .NET, PowerShell, and related technologies.
- Use AI tools such as Claude and sophisticated prompting to accelerate boilerplate generation and development execution while retaining full ownership of code logic, security, and architectural decisions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify system bottlenecks and improve the robustness, accuracy, and speed of automated migrations.
- Monitor, validate, and execute complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that transfer critical data from legacy environments into the platform.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in live automated routines to maintain reliable customer onboarding.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for tools and routines, and communicate progress and roadblocks clearly to key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of software development experience, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, high-quality automation code using C# and .NET frameworks.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to write, debug, and optimize complex PowerShell scripts for environment and process orchestration.
- Strong hands-on proficiency with SQL databases, schema mapping, and complex data querying and scripting.
- A deep understanding of using AI tools as a development co-pilot without compromising data integrity or thorough technical problem-solving.
- Ability to quickly analyze unfamiliar third-party software packages and adapt workflows to changing technical requirements.
- A strong focus on data stability, testing, and system performance to maintain a reliable platform.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
