This opportunity is for a Technical Product Manager to guide cross-functional teams through the strategy, development, delivery, and long-term support of high-quality software products. The role is hands-on and focused on solving customer problems, improving existing products, and supporting new product initiatives with a strong balance of technical understanding, product judgment, and user-centered thinking.
The position focuses primarily on an admissions and enrollment platform for public school districts, helping families make informed decisions and enabling schools to manage fair and equitable student placement processes.
What You’ll Do
Product Discovery and Strategy
- Work cross-functionally to define the best solutions to customer problems.
- Conduct product discovery, qualitative and quantitative research, ideation, prototyping, and stakeholder interviews.
- Apply analytical and creative thinking with a hands-on, pragmatic approach to drive progress and adapt to evolving customer needs.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of customer experience trends and technology trends.
Product Lifecycle and Delivery
- Manage the full product lifecycle from strategy through delivery and long-term support.
- Make meaningful contributions to the growth of existing products and the success of new product initiatives.
- Communicate priorities and responsibilities to the team and facilitate delivery of quality products within timeline and budget.
- Triage defects and define clear paths for resolution.
Requirements, Documentation, and Quality
- Compose and refine product specifications, define epics, and write user stories, acceptance criteria, and QA steps.
- Create and maintain client-facing and internal product documentation.
- Enhance product experience, reliability, security and privacy, data protection and compliance, performance, and accessibility.
Technical and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineers, designers, researchers, and other cross-functional team members to deliver quality software products.
- Work with engineers to deliver software that is robust, scalable, and maintainable.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product leadership, design, engineering, and research professionals to support successful product outcomes.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Engineering or QA background.
- Experience building enterprise-scale digital products.
- Experience partnering with fast-paced cross-functional delivery teams to create digital products with a strong focus on technology and user experience.
- Experience with data modeling and relational databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
- Experience with web accessibility.
- Experience with Design Systems.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and other development management tools.
- Working knowledge of product development methodologies, tools, and processes, including Agile and Lean.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and think both creatively and analytically.
- Global and cultural awareness.
- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
Nice to Have
- Experience working at a digital consultancy or agency.
- Experience building SaaS or multi-tenant products.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Working knowledge of Figma.
- Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
