About the Role
This opportunity is for an experienced Manager of IT Consultants to lead a team of SAP specialists in a remote role with regular client-site travel. The role focuses on team leadership, consultant development, project oversight, cost management, client relationship management, and delivery support for SAP EWM-related initiatives.
The Manager of IT Consultants will help drive team performance, support skills development, manage project costs, and maintain strong client relationships. This position requires a strategic leader with experience in leadership or management, SDLC processes, client-facing delivery, and SAP EWM knowledge. SAP EWM experience is desirable, especially in warehouse processes, inventory management, transportation management, configuration, customization, and integration with other SAP modules.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of SAP EWM consultants.
- Build and maintain a high-performance team culture focused on accountability, ownership, and strong delivery.
- Define priorities, set team goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career progression for team members.
- Guide consultants in a remote team environment while maintaining strong team alignment and performance.
Skills Development
- Implement training programs to strengthen the technical and soft skills of consultants.
- Support consultant development in SAP module certifications, warehouse optimization best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Help team members build capabilities related to automation, AI integration, and modern SAP delivery practices.
Cost Management
- Manage organizational budgets, resource allocation, and cost controls to support profitability.
- Monitor expenses and ensure actual costs remain aligned with approved budgets.
- Optimize staffing plans and identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency.
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for SAP EWM-related projects.
- Gather requirements, manage expectations, resolve issues, and support timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Ensure delivered solutions align with client business objectives.
Project Oversight
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver SAP EWM solutions.
- Help ensure projects meet timelines, quality standards, and SAP best practices.
- Support implementation, training, issue resolution, and troubleshooting activities.
- Apply knowledge of agile and waterfall methodologies, project management tools, and SDLC processes.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to SAP strategy by identifying market trends and recommending process improvements.
- Support business development efforts related to SAP consulting and delivery capabilities.
- Help improve consulting operations, team readiness, and client delivery outcomes.
Travel and On-Site Support
- Conduct regular visits to client sites for hands-on leadership, workshops, training, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain productivity and team leadership while working remotely.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, including domestic and potentially international travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership and/or managerial role.
- Proven track record managing and developing teams.
- Experience leading teams in remote work environments.
- Strong understanding of SAP EWM functionality is desirable.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory management, and transportation management is preferred.
- Experience with cost management tools and methodologies, including keeping actual costs within budget.
- Earned Value Management System knowledge, including EVM or EVMS, is highly desirable.
- Excellent client-facing skills with successful stakeholder management and project delivery experience.
- Experience working with the Department of War or other federal agencies is desirable.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, including resource allocation, resource management, coaching, and skills development.
- Financial acumen related to budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Outstanding communication skills for client interactions and executive leadership briefings.
- Proficiency in SAP EWM configuration, customization, and integration with other SAP modules is desirable.
- Experience with SAP module integrations such as TM, MM, SD, and FICO is desirable.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills in complex warehouse environments.
- Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle processes.
- Willingness to travel regularly up to 50% while working remotely.
