About the Role
This opportunity is for a Payroll Implementation Specialist who will lead the complete client onboarding and implementation process from post-sale through completion. The role serves as the primary point of contact for new clients, gathers requirements, manages implementation timelines, delivers technical training, and coordinates multiple client accounts.
The Payroll Implementation Specialist will support initial payroll processing, HRIS training, 401(k) setup, benefit setup, certified payroll processes, and related implementation activities. This position requires strong payroll knowledge, close attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across departments while maintaining a positive client experience.
The role supports a software platform focused on time tracking, payroll, fringe benefit management, and certified reporting for contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the complete client implementation process from post-sale through completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients throughout onboarding and implementation.
- Gather client requirements and ensure implementation plans accurately reflect their operational needs.
- Manage multiple client accounts and implementation projects simultaneously.
- Set and manage client expectations using the established implementation timeline.
- Provide technical training and support related to HRIS functionality and initial payroll processing.
- Support the setup of payroll, 401(k) plans, employee benefits, and related client services.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure implementation services are delivered as promised.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve issues that arise during implementation.
- Organize, prepare, and complete all required implementation documentation.
- Communicate new client information to the implementation team and ensure all departments have the information needed to provide accurate and timely service.
- Monitor weekly deliverables and ensure they are completed according to the established timeline.
- Handle client questions, issues, and service requests and follow up until each matter is fully resolved.
- Maintain client satisfaction throughout the implementation process.
- Analyze large data sets and identify opportunities to improve implementation and payroll processes.
- Work independently, solve problems, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in account management, client implementation, or a combination of both.
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through on client requests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take initiative.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to analyze large data sets.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on process improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with certified payroll, including Davis-Bacon or state prevailing wage payroll.
- Experience auditing payroll records for compliance.
- Familiarity with human resources and payroll regulations.
- Knowledge of group health plans, Affordable Care Act regulations, and employee enrollment processes.
