About the Role
This remote opportunity is for an Associate Attorney interested in developing specialized expertise in Medicare Secondary Payer compliance. The role supports matters involving Medicare Set-Asides, conditional payment liens, Section 111 reporting, workers’ compensation claims, and general liability settlements.
The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, solid organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Training, professional development resources, and ongoing support are provided to help build expertise in this specialized area of law.
What You’ll Do
- Draft and review settlement documents for workers’ compensation and general liability claims.
- Conduct preliminary reviews and quality assurance checks of Medicare Set-Aside reports.
- Prepare and submit Medicare Set-Aside packages to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services through the federal submission portal.
- Draft disputes and appeals involving Medicare conditional payment liens.
- Participate in client and internal calls concerning Medicare Set-Asides, Section 111 reporting, and conditional payment matters.
- Assist with the preparation of client-facing materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
- Communicate regularly with supervising attorneys regarding workload, deadlines, case progress, and relevant updates.
- Collaborate with legal professionals and cross-functional teams to complete client deliverables.
- Follow all applicable confidentiality, compliance, operational, and organizational procedures.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in good standing.
- Zero to three years of legal experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
