Warehouse Associate

Role overview

You’ll support warehouse operations by receiving, storing, distributing, labeling, shipping, and tracking materials, tools, equipment, and products while keeping the warehouse accurate, organized, and safe.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
  • Match purchase orders with sales orders and distribute materials for processing.
  • Review customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions.
  • Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated locations.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Process requests for materials, tools, and inventory items.
  • Assemble customer orders and place them on pallets, shelves, or designated holding areas.
  • Label materials using appropriate identification methods.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers safely.
  • Record materials and inventory received or distributed in the computer system.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory control.
  • Prepare parcels and materials for mailing or shipping.
  • Complete requisition forms to request supplies from other departments.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Sweep, dust, mop, and keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Communication, organization, math, technical, and time management skills.
  • Thorough and accurate work style.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and warehouse tools.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with occasional outdoor exposure.

Physical requirements

  • Regular reaching with hands and arms, speaking, and hearing.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
