Warehouse Associate

Role overview

You’ll support warehouse operations by receiving, storing, distributing, assembling, shipping, and tracking materials, tools, equipment, and products while keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Schedule freight carriers for pickup and delivery.
  • Check merchandise against purchase orders, part numbers, returned parts, and non-inventoried items.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions.
  • Move, gather, distribute, and ship materials and products.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets, shelves, or holding areas.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fill sales orders, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, or stock items.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record received or distributed materials in computer programs.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution.
  • Prepare parcels for shipment.
  • Assemble fittings, tubing, hoses, and other products using drawings and instructions.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair, and test products to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain equipment through basic preventive maintenance and report repair needs.
  • Keep the warehouse and work areas clean, orderly, accessible, and safe.
  • Complete production and quality forms.
  • Support facility maintenance and other assigned duties as needed.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Computer program experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Physical and work environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers.
  • May involve repetitive motions.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required.
  • Open warehouse environment with exposure to weather and temperature conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.
