Specific Specialized experience includes applying IT concepts, principles, and practices to plan and carryout difficult and complex assignments; developing new methods, approaches, and procedures to plan and execute electronic batch jobs and file transfers using Job Control Language (JCL); modifying specific jobs that run on mainframe and open system software (CA7, Control M); serving as a subject matter expert in IT project management to include developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitor activities, and/or evaluating and reporting accomplishments; leading, planning and/or managing the work of IT teams and projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
The incumbent serves as a section supervisor within Infrastructure Operations (IO), Operations Control and Consolidated Mobile Outpatient Pharmacy (CO/CMOP). Serves as an advisor to the Program Manager for planning all facets VBA IT Support. They pan, direct and coordinate work of a group of highly technical and skilled information technology specialists who provide support for hardware and software installations, applicant control and configuration and maintenance of VA automated applications.
