SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT (DESIGN DIRECTOR)

This position has a selective placement factor: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 or you must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Provide project and design management leadership, training, and mentoring in the area of Project and Design Management; 2) Plan and lead meeting and conferences required for execution of projects; 3) Collaborate with other engineering and architectural disciplines to review and advise on the development of execution plans and timely completion of all phases of the work within available funds and authorized scope; 4) Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide consultative services on project management issues and the entire range of architectural and engineering activities for facilities construction; 5) Possesses knowledge of standards, codes and practices of engineering and architecture governing the identification, execution and delivery of technical products and services; and 6) Demonstrates knowledge of facilities acquisition, as well as project funding authority levels and sources, contract requirements, contract documents, proposal and bidding procedures.
