LEGAL ASSISTANT (OA)

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or pay band (NC-01) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following duties: (1) Preparing and transmitting correspondence on behalf of the intellectual property attorneys; 2.) Preparing legal memoranda, patent applications, patent prosecution documents and necessary oaths; 3.) Obtaining copies of drawings and assuring that executed applications, amendments, appeals, petitions, documents and letters are complete; 4.) Preparing information release paperwork for inventors to route their patent applications; and 5.) Answering telephone inquiries, scheduling meetings, distributing mail, and logging publication request to attorneys.
