One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. For the GS-09 level: One year of specialized experience is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience at the GS-09 level is defined as: utilizing knowledge of administrative and management procedures to coordinate a variety of administrative task and staff actions, providing recommendations regarding updates to policies, regulations and plans to meet current or changing conditions, maintain calendar for management/senior leader and recommend course of action on a variety of taskings involving daily and long-range projects. For the GS-11 level: One year of specialized experience is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal Service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience at the GS-11 level is defined as: experience with organizing or managing internal administrative processes for multiple divisions ensuring coordination and timeliness of office functions, action items and editing correspondence; providing technical information to internal or external customers on policy or administrative procedures. For the GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in the Federal Service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience at the GS-12 level is defined as: experience managing administrative operations and task of an organization; ensuring coordination and timeliness of office functions, action items, authoring and editing correspondence; providing senior leader and executive-level administrative support and communicating with senior level staff and high-ranking internal and external officials. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-09: Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service. To be considered for the GS-11: Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service. To be considered for the GS-12: Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
