SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Specialized experience is defined as 1) Administering the design, construction, modification, operations and maintenance, asset planning, and documentation for all aspects of infrastructure supporting a variety of spaces (e.g. office buildings, technical service buildings, their assets, etc.); 2) Ensuring that maintenance, repair, and construction needs are identified and performed in accordance with established schedules. 3) Analyzing facility operations and maintenance problems to determine the most economical and practical engineering solutions. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is located in NWFR (Facilities Operations and Maintenance – O&M), Facilities Operations (NWF), Workplace Services (NW), Chief Administrative Office (N), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). As Facilities Operations Specialist you will serve as the program lead and primary technical authority for the Facilities O&M program providing leadership and technical expertise for all aspects of the infrastructure supporting Ross Complex, Portland Hangar and BPA Headquarters assets.
