Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the candidate with the knowledge, skills and ability to perform examinations of the largest and most complex insured depository institutions, to conduct special investigations or examinations of non-insured operating institutions or newly organized institutions applying for depository insurance and/or institutions contemplating merger, consolidation and similar activities, and to serve as Examiner-in-Charge. Candidates must be a Commissioned Risk Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commission criteria used by the FDIC’s Division of Risk Management Supervision. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and assists, conducts, or directs the examination of insured depository institutions to determine their financial condition, evaluate management, and determine compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
