SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-2 or GS12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience supervising, managing, executing and communicating program goals to ensure budget execution are consistent with agency goals and objectives related to federal budget processes. Examples of Specialized Experience: 1. Experience in financial management, understanding the Federal budget process and associated policies/regulations. 2. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques, skills and methods to apply and complete evaluations and/or measurements of the financial management program. 3. Experience communicating effectively to make recommendations, defend, explain, or promote assigned program initiatives. 4. Experience supervising a team to ensure deliverables are completed timely and accurately. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The position is located in the Office of Secure Transportation (OST); Office of Program Integration, Budget Planning and Execution Division, Budget Execution Branch (BEB). The Supervisory Budget Analyst directs and oversees the BEB and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, consolidating, and revising budget estimates, budget execution (spend) plans and trend analysis.
