Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Using heavy duty hand tools, special tools, and test equipment to repair, maintain, modify and test gasoline and diesel-powered mobile equipment such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, power shovels, trucks, buses, firefighting, weight handling (to 150-ton capacity), crawler cranes and emergency generators (up to 700 KW) and other miscellaneous equipment; 2) Diagnosing problems, disassembling, repairing, fitting, assembling and adjusting systems, such as torque converters, planetary gears, multi-shift transmissions, fuel injection systems, air systems, compressors, valves, electrical systems, including wiring and delicate, complex electrical controls; and 3) Making modifications to equipment to meet requirements.
