You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Performing database management for locally developed and other assigned applications Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting database systems and database user interfaces Designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications that meet technical and functional requirements Supporting the maintenance of existing applications software and participating in system analysis, testing, and implementation of new or modified application software You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Designing enterprise databases and enterprise architecture to support applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability Planning and installing upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance Developing data models for applications, metadata tables, views, and related database structures Implementing automated data integration and data transformation (ETL) solutions to meet business requirements Provide technical support and guidance to junior database administrators or specialists. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
