Specialized Experience GS-7: One year of specialized experience which includes protecting property against such hazards as: fire, theft, damage, accidents and trespassing. Coordinating communications during emergency situations, writing and reviewing incident reports; and controlling access to restricted areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone — no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Decision Making Leadership Managing Human Resources Physical Security Time in Grade Requirement GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-06.

About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Lead Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at Installation Management Command (IMCOM) supported installations. This position functions as the first layer of defense in a security-in-depth concept to deter, detect, assess, respond, and document unauthorized access.
